Prison Ministry

 

First Baptist is actively involved in the jail outreach along with Rock of Ages Jail and Prison ministries.  We currently have four preachers from the church who volunteer their time each Monday to hold services at the Dickerson Facility located in Hamtramck, Michigan.
 
We are currently entering our fifth year of involvement at this facility, and have seen several inmates over the years come to know and trust Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Many have shown gratitude for and to our members for the time we have come and ministered to them.

There have been two occasions where inmates have been released from their sentence and have come to attend services at First Baptist.  We often stress to these inmates the importance of having a good church home in their lives and invite them to First Baptist as that very place for them as we reach out and strive to be an avenue of help for them.
